Why hotels outsource linen

Your Housekeepers Should Be Turning Rooms, Not Running Dryers

Every occupied room produces a bag of sheets, pillowcases and towels. In a property with an on-site laundry, that bag turns into labor hours, utility bills, chemical orders and machines that always seem to break on a sold-out weekend.

Gulf Coast hotels feel it more than most. Occupancy swings hard between Mardi Gras, spring break, summer and the quiet weeks of winter, and humid weather means damp linen can sour if it sits. An outside linen partner turns that unpredictable work into a predictable schedule and one invoice.

Everly picks up soiled linen on set days, processes it at our plant in Saraland and returns it clean, folded and counted so your housekeepers can stock carts and get back to rooms.

  • Interstate hotels along I-65 and I-10 with steady business travel.
  • Downtown and Midtown hotels with event, cruise and convention weekends.
  • Beach resorts and condo-hotels with Saturday turnovers and seasonal peaks.
  • Inns and bed and breakfasts on the Eastern Shore that need hotel quality at a smaller scale.

Par levels, explained

How Much Linen Your Hotel Actually Needs

Running short of linen is one of the fastest ways to end up with rooms you cannot turn. Par is the number of complete sets you keep per bed. Most hotels need at least three.

ParWhere it isWhy it matters
1st setOn the bed in the roomWhat the guest sleeps on tonight
2nd setIn transit or at the laundryPicked up today, back on the next delivery
3rd setOn your shelfCovers today’s check-ins while the 2nd set is out
4th set (busy weeks)Reserve stockCovers spikes, stains, rewashes and replacement

A common starting point. During your walkthrough we set par by room count, occupancy and delivery frequency.

One Plant, One Team, Your Linen

Everly was founded by John McFadden, who brings more than 15 years of commercial cleaning and linen experience. Every hotel account is processed at our own plant at 23 Station Street in Saraland, with high-temperature washing, inspection and folding before it goes back on the truck.

When occupancy changes, you call the people who run the plant. Pickups and par levels can be adjusted ahead of a busy weekend instead of after it.

  • Owner-led. You deal with John and the team who run the plant, not a regional call center.
  • Processed in-house. Washed, dried, inspected and folded at 23 Station Street in Saraland.
  • Bonded and insured. Peace of mind for every property our drivers enter.

What We Help Hotels Get Right

Small habits that protect your linen and your reviews.

Separate stained items

Bag heavily stained or damaged pieces separately and flag them. They get extra treatment, and damaged pieces can be pulled from service before a guest sees them.

Never use towels as rags

Makeup, shoe polish and cleaning chemicals ruin bath towels fast. Give housekeeping dedicated rags so guest towels last longer.

Plan for the season

Coastal occupancy swings hard. Share your forecast before spring break and summer so pickups and par can increase in time.
